Market Place Jukebox

This Saturday 21st May the Market Place continues with its series of musical entertainment by hosting The Collectives -a collection of some of the most talented musicians from across the counties. The Collectives are a band not to be missed. The Collectives cover all styles of music from the 60's to the present day – a real live band ‘jukebox’

Last month local jazz favourites Dave Johnson kicked off a summer of music by playing to over one hundred people on the Market Place. A variety of bands and acts have been scheduled over the coming months. This includes Rockabilly, 60’s music, rock music and an acoustic evening featuring local bands and artists.  Kettering Borough Council has been working with local music business “Intertainment” to establish a varied, value for money musical package that has a focus on local bands and entertainers.

The Collectives will be playing live on the Market Place between 12 noon and 2pm. Whilst the adults enjoy the music, entertainment has also been organised for the little ones in the form of local entertainers Balls up Jugglers, who will be providing circus skills workshops. In addition to this, there is also the popular monthly record fair being held in the Parish Rooms between 9am and 3pm.

Valerie Hitchman, Head of Community Services said “We have been working really hard to develop a varied programme of events this year for the Market Place that also utilises our local talent, supports local businesses and demonstrates real value for money. The feedback we have received from the event so far has been absolutely fantastic and we’re delighted to be providing such a varied range of entertainment on the Market Place”
