New Blood Testing Site goes from Strength to Strength

The innovative new NHS blood testing facility for Kettering General Hospital opened in Kettering town centre (at the Customer Service Centre at Kettering Borough Council) in January this year.

Since opening, the facility has gone from strength to strength with the number of patients using the service increasing every week. Due to this success it is hoped that the opening hours for blood tests will soon be increased.

The new purpose built blood testing facility offers a waiting area, private rooms for blood testing and a room for providing other health initiatives. The new service has reduced pressure on the Pathology Unit at Kettering General Hospital and due to its town centre location it is much more convenient than travelling to the hospital and having to queue there .

Councillor Derek Zanger, Kettering  Borough Council`s Portfolio holder for Market Towns and Villages said :

‘I am really pleased that the opening of this purpose built Kettering General Hospital blood testing clinic has proved so popular with the local community. We are now looking forward to building on this success by offering  additional NHS outpatient services`.

If a GP has referred patients for a blood test they can phone 01536 535600  between 8.30am and 5pm to make an appointment. The NHS Blood Testing Centre is open 8.30am to 11.30am Monday to Friday.
