Kettering Borough Council has been working in partnership with Intertainment Agency to support musical entertainment in Kettering. The entertainment scheduled takes place during the day time and early evening and is centred around the award winning Market Place.
Following on from the success of the Dave Johnson Jazz Band and The Collectives “Juke Box” band the next band appearing will be Red Thunder -a vastly experienced Rock n Roll band bursting with passion and the desire to perform combining talent with a youthful exuberance that shines in every song.
Aiming to be the best Rock n Roll band on the circuit, it is hard to imagine a more perfect line up. With standout tracks like "Mess of the Blues," the music of Red Thunder appeals to Rock n Roll fans and non-Rock n Roll fans alike, Red Thunder will be appearing on the Market Place on Saturday 18th June from 12noon to 2pm.
In addition to live lunch time bands, the musical programme also includes an Acoustic Showcase on 30th July, and an Up and Coming Acts evening on 20th August all featuring and promoting local artists.
Councillor Steve Bellamy, Portfolio Holder for Community and Culture said “It’s great to see the council and local businesses working in partnership to develop a varied programme of events this year for the Market Place that also utilises our local talent, supports local businesses and demonstrates real value for money. The feedback we have received from the events so far this year has been absolutely fantastic and we’re delighted to be providing such a varied range of entertainment on the Market Place”
Valerie Hitchman, Head of Community Services said: “As well as musical entertainment, Kettering Borough Council has also been working with local businesses and entertainers to develop a programme of arts and entertainment as part of the Kettering Summer Celebrations which will run from 23rd July to 10th September. The celebrations this year include dance festivals, Kettering by the Sea, Connect FM Road show, street theatre, a fun run and Kettering’s first street festival – Fringe Fresco. We look forward to seeing you there.”
