Sweet Music on the Market Place

This Saturday 30th April local jazz favourites the Dave Johnson band will kick off a series of musical events on the award winning Market Place. As well as the ever popular jazz that Dave Johnson plays, a variety of bands and acts have been scheduled over the coming months. This includes Rockabilly, 60’s music, rock music and an acoustic evening featuring local bands and artists.  Kettering Borough Council has been working with local music business “Intertainment” to establish a varied, value for money musical package that has a focus on local bands and entertainers.

Dave Johnson will be playing live on the Market Place between 12 noon and 2pm. Whilst the adults enjoy the jazz, entertainment has also been organised for the little ones in the form of local entertainers Balls up Jugglers, who will be providing circus skills workshops. In addition to this, there is also the popular monthly record fair being held in the Parish Rooms between 9am and 3pm.

Valerie Hitchman, Head of Community Services said “We have been working really hard to develop a varied programme of events this year for the Market Place that also utilises our local talent, supports local businesses and demonstrates real value for money. The feedback we have received from the Easter activities has been absolutely fantastic and we’re delighted to be providing such a varied range of entertainment on the Market Place”
