Respect for Heritage

Kettering is rich in heritage.  The architecture of the town is unique and charming, giving a historic feeling that sets it apart from many other large neighbouring towns. The plan is to further enhance this look. New developments will be sympathetic to this heritage, and will complement it. Glass and steel buildings that look impressive today will quickly date. The aim with Kettering is to build stylish buildings in keeping with the town that will stand the test of time and enhance the visitor experience.

To help visualise what the town may look like in the future, the Council enlisted the help of the eminent artist, Chris Prout. His images symbolise what the town may look like following the completion of the regeneration programme. His paintings have already inspired the design behind the new Market Place restaurant buildings.
