Kettering plays host to a number of cultural events in keeping with its position as a town rich in heritage and culture.
A timeline at the new Market Place in Kettering, lit up at night, celebrates the history of achievement within the town.
The Summer Celebration at Kettering’s new Market Place attracted over 3,500 visitors last year and was hosted by teen singing sensation and Classical Brit Award nominee Faryl Smith.
Last year saw the Halfords British Cycling Tour Series come to the town, with a race around the town centre. The event attracted in excess of 10,000 visitors to the streets of Kettering.
The town also confirmed its status playing host to the National Volleyball Centre and is a strong contender for the 2012 Olympic training camp.
The new Lighthouse Theatre regularly plays host to a range of plays and entertainment.
Kettering has also come under intense media interest in recent months. Gok Wan will be filming an episode of his new series in Kettering, having been selected after beating off stiff competition. The town recently played host to the UK’s climate change summit, with Channel Four carrying out a live panel interview at the new Market Place, linking up with John Snow in Rio De Janeiro.
